As a sole supplier of cast stone products to Davidsons Homes, Amber Valley Stone was entrusted with the supply of semi-dry cast stone for Davidsons Homes’ large flagship site of quality homes in Warwickshire, known as Dollman Meadow.
250 new homes were built on the site of the former Rugby Radio Station in Warwickshire – the place where the first transatlantic call was sent from, in 1927. Received in Houlton, Maine, USA, many of the street names at the new development honour the local radio station’s history, for example, Maine Street and Wroughton Drive.
Amber Valley Stone not only supplied the string course for Dollman Meadow, but also the keystones heads and cills for the 250 homes.

For 2 years, Amber Valley Stone have been working alongside Brice Homes on the stunning Astley House in the Warwickshire countryside. Commissioned by a most fastidious owner of uncompromising standards and expectations, the 5,500 ft² of opulent living space and Neo-Georgian façade had extensive Stone and Portico requirements and Brice Homes decided to partner with AVS for the entire process from design through to delivery.
The products required for Astley House’s stonework were semi-dry cast for dressings such as window surrounds, copings, and pier caps, as well as wet cast for portico and paving. Our premium vapour cured semi-dry cast stone is perfect for creating or reproducing beautiful architecture and our wet cast stone is lightly acid-etched to allow a close match to semi-dry cast stone which enables a mixed specification supply.

Amber Valley Stone worked alongside Freeman Homes in the construction of their flagship site of 4-5 bedroom properties in a quintessential Cotswold Market Town.
The houses were built with a natural Cotswold stone from a nearby quarry and AVS offered a range versatile products and services to the completion of the project. AVS introduced a selection of door canopies, coping stones, and window heads and cills, all colour matched in a shade of stone which blended with and complemented the natural stone of the houses.
These cast stone products are a great alternative as they offer a long-term durability as well as GRC being lightweight and easy to install. The Architectural GRC door canopy was fitted retrospectively rather than being built in during construction to further reduce the chance of damage.
Amber Valley Stone also provided the project with units to clad GRP chimneys. These units were delivered direct to Freeman Homes’ chosen fabricator who ensured continuity of build whilst keeping production times down.
